"We have a secret in our culture, and it's not that birth is painful. It's that birthing people are strong."- Laura Staove Harm
Sydney Leach, CD(DONA)
You will always remember how you were feeling as you brought your baby into this world. Doula support helps you to feel secure and safe during your birth experience. Doulas don’t just use their skills to ground you, they help your partner, providers, and other members of your birth team to create the right birthing atmosphere.
I believe that doulas are invaluable in all birth settings and that everyone should have access to a doula. Often, birthing people who are unable to pay full price for a doula are the ones who benefit the most from continual and unwavering support. As an experienced doula who is in high school, my core work has been with younger birthing people. If you're a teenager giving birth, you will have so many people standing in front of you; I will stand next to you through it all. That said, I welcome clients of any age, background, and circumstance: you deserve to have an empowering birth that unfolds exactly the way you want it to! I’m here to give you the tools to make that possible and advocate for you at every step along the way. All of my service fees are on a sliding scale to be able to accommodate a diverse range of clients, so please get in touch for an initial chat to explore all your options.
Why Soulful Summit Doula?
I have lived in Colorado for most of my life, and try to live by the creed of respecting nature to the fullest. I love to hike, rock climb, and mountaineer in the beautiful peaks that our state has to offer.
To me, the birthing journey also involves reaching a summit. With the right support, that journey can be intuitive, introspective, and soulful. My goal is to guide anyone who is birthing a child and their families though the mountains and valleys of labor and delivery in a way that holds space for all.
